Te Akau Otaki Sunday Preview

Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Sunday 30 November at Otaki.

Otaki:

Weather: fine, track: Soft7, rail: true. 4mls rain forecast Sunday.

1:31 p.m. R3 4 Kinnaird (2 c Home Affairs – Orinda) – Craig Grylls; he was caught three-wide from an outside gate, forced to travel wider into the straight, and ran home well for third in a trial on 14 November at Avondale. Debuting in the $40,000 2YO 1100 metres, he is from the first crop of Australian Champion Three-Year-Old Home Affairs (I Am Invincible), and is a half-brother to Group 1 Australian Derby winner and sire Jon Snow (Iffraaj). While he looks destined to get over more distance, this is a good starting point, he will take benefit from the trip away, and he's ideally drawn (3) to race well first-up. Fixed odds: $3.20 & $1.45.

2:08 p.m. R4 5 Truth Or Dare (4 g Vanbrugh – Thetruthisoutthere) – Jonathan Riddell; he was eased from the outside gate, racing some nine lengths off the leaders at the 600m, and remained back over a sprint distance in a trial on 14 November at Avondale. Resuming in the $40,000 Rating 65 1400 metres, he finished fourth here on debut, and won his Maiden over 1600 metres from Te Akau Cranbourne stable in Victoria (main picture). He jumps from a less than ideal gate (13) but look for him to be finding the line strongly.Fixed odds: $16.00 & $4.20.
