Te Akau Otaki Thursday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has three horses racing on Thursday 16 May at Otaki.

As on Wednesday 15 May the conditions were: fine and Heavy10, rail out 4 metres. No rain forecast.

12.25 p.m. R2 6 Richard of Yorke (7 g Oasis Dream - Cascata) - Ryan Elliot; closed
solidly from last in a faster last 600m (35.3) than the winner when resuming in
the Rating 72 1600 metres on 7 April at Pukekohe, and did the same in the
Rating 72 1600 metres on 25 April at Awapuni. The saddle slipping and losing
the irons is best forgotten in the Rating 72 2000 metres last Wednesday at
Matamata. A winner on slow and heavy going, he could prove competitive in the
$11,000 Rating 72 2200 metres.

2.10 p.m. R5 9 Cicciolina (3 f Burgundy - A La Votre) - Anna Jones; resumed with a solid effort in the Maiden 1200 metres on 4 April at Wanganui, and given time (42 days) since. She has handled rain-affected going at the trials and could prove competitive in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1400 metres if able to cope with testing conditions.

3.28 p.m. R7 13 Dolce Amore (3 f Sebring - Irish Belle) - Rosie Myers; finished third in her last three trials prior to a satisfactory debut effort in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres on 25 April at Awapuni. Handling the conditions is paramount to her chances in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres, but she has some indicators of being able to cope.
