Te Akau Pakenham Monday Preview

Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Monday 3 August at Pakenham (Melbourne).

Pakenham:

Weather: showers, track: poly-track, rail: true.

3:30 p.m. (NZ) - 1:30 p.m. (Vic) R2 7 Precambrian (4 g So You Think – Splendido) – Logan Bates (a); he remained back on Heavy10 footing in 1000-metre jump out on 20 July at Cranbourne, and resumes in the A$32,000 Maiden 1600 metres. He finished strongly for fourth over 1887 metres when given two starts in his first campaign, is ideally drawn (4) and look for him finding the line strongly. NZ TAB fixed odds: $16.00 & $2.80.

5:00 p.m. (NZ) - 3:00 p.m. (Vic) R5 8 Astari (4 g Starspangledbanner – Belzella) – Daniel Stackhouse; he finished off strongly when resuming in the Benchmark 62 1000 metres on 22 June and was then fourth following a good trip in the Benchmark 56 1200 metres on 6 June, both here on the poly-track. Contesting the A$27,000 Benchmark 62 1100 metres, he has been a winner over 1100 metres, is a consistent performer, and brings the right form to rate a top four chance if the former Te Akau apprentice can secure a decent trip from barrier eight. TAB fixed odds: $7.50 & $2.50.
