Te Akau Pakenham Thursday Preview
19 March, 2026
Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Thursday 19 March at Pakenham (Melbourne).
Pakenham:
Weather: overcast, track: Soft5, rail: out 6 metres. No rain forecast.
7:15 p.m. (NZ) - 5:15 p.m. (Vic) R1 11 Norakino (2 f North Pacific – Rakitno) – Michael Dee; she was steadied to last from the outside gate and closed the margin strongly for sixth in a jump out on 9 March at Cranbourne. One of two stablemates debuting in the a$45,000 Maiden 2YO 1100 metres, by North Pacific (Brazen Beau), she looks like a talented juvenile in the making. She is bred on the I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) sire line, and is out of a dual winning mare by Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice). She is handily drawn (5) for her first-up assignment in a field of mostly ‘unknowns’. NZ TAB fixed odds: $26.00 & $5.50.
7:15 p.m. (NZ) - 5:15 p.m. (Vic) R1 12 Wonderful Sky (2 f Ole Kirk – Medic) – Damien Lane; the second of the stable duo was situated behind the leaders and quickened with a very strong finish to win a jump out on 2 March at Cranbourne. Also debuting in the Maiden 2YO 1100 metres, she is beautifully bred being by young Written Tycoon sire son Ole Kirk, out of the Snitzel mare Medic, a sister to Group 1 Golden Slipper winner and Australian Champion 2YO Estijaab. While it is hard to lineup chances for both fillies in a field of mainly debutantes, she did look good winning that jump out and has drawn well (3). NZ TAB fixed odds: $5.00 & $1.90.
