Te Akau Pukekohe Preview
5 September, 2017
Te Akau New Zealand has one horse racing on Wednesday 6 September at Pukekohe.
As on Tuesday 5 September the conditions were: overcast and Heavy10, rail out 7 metres. 33mls rain forecast race day.
1.07 p.m. R1 10 Te Akau Shark (3 g Rip Van Winkle - Bak Da Chief) - Michael McNab; has displayed natural talent when finding the line solidly in each of his three trials (2-3-3) and makes his debut in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres subject to track conditions. From a strong staying family and out of Waikato Cup (Gr. 2, 2400m) winner Bak Da Chief (Chief Bearhart), he has the makings of a lovely three-year-old staying type. The breed has shown to act on soft ground and given his competitiveness to race he seems capable of a bold first up performance should he take his place.
