Te Akau Pukekohe Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has four horses racing on Friday 26 October at Pukekohe.

As on Thursday 25 October the conditions were: cloudy and Dead4, rail out 5 metres. 1.5mls rain forecast Thursday and 3mls early Friday morning.

11.48 a.m. R1 6 She's Not Bad (4 m He's Remarkable - Andra) - Opie Bosson; showed to be an improving filly at the trials before winning stylishly on debut over 1400 metres in March at Avondale. Pretty quiet in two trials this time in, she obviously harbours ability and it will be interesting to see her fresh-up performance in the $10,000 Rating 65 1200 metres.

2.03 p.m. R5 8 Witchery (4 m Savabeel - Now the World) - Opie Bosson; sustained a big finish from back in the field for second when resuming in the NZB Pearl Series Maiden 1000 metres a fortnight ago at Tauherenikau, running her last 600m in a slick 32.2. Suited from barrier two in the $10,000 Maiden 1200 metres, any improvement should make her very competitive.

2.38 p.m. R6 11 Tiffany's Time (5 m Alamosa - Tinsel Time) - Shafiq Rusof; resumed with a notable effort for fourth in the Rating 72 1200 metres on 4 October at Waverley, following two trials. Drawn wide (11) in the $11,000 Rating 72 1200 metres, with two wins over 1400 metres, the prospect of a competitive pace should enable her to work home strongly from back in the field.

4.25 p.m. R9 1 Motivation (4 g Mastercraftsman - Tenacity) - Opie Bosson; circled from off the pace with a big finish for second to stable-mate Meteoric Lass (Stratum), running the fastest 600m (34.2), when resuming in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 10 October at Taupo, ridden by Bosson. A winner on debut (1400m) last season and fourth next time out in the Trevor Eagle Memorial (Listed, 1500m) at Ellerslie, he appears set to test this field from barrier seven in the $10,000 Rating 65 1400 metres.
