Te Akau Pukekohe Preview
Te Akau New Zealand has six horses entered for the nine race programme on Friday 6 May at Pukekohe.

As on race day the conditions were: overcast and Slow7, rail out 5 metres. 5mls rain forecast race day.

12.18 p.m. R2 1 Hall of Fame (2 c Savabeel - Around the Clock) - Matt Cameron; was unlucky to be collared after leading on debut in the Maiden 2YO 1200 metres last Saturday at Hastings, and contests the corresponding race from barrier seven. There is a bit more depth of pedigree to some of his rivals, but emulation of his first up performance would entitle him a strong chance again.

12.18 p.m. R2 4 Gingernuts (2 g Iffraaj - Double Elle) - Cameron Lammas; has displayed professionalism, determination, and galloping ability in his two trials and should give an honest account on debut, from barrier six, in the Maiden 2YO 1200 metres.

2.03 p.m. R5 12 Grazia (3 f Savabeel - Trocair) - Matt Cameron; was not herself on Slow7 in the Maiden 1400 metres at Te Aroha, after a solid debut third at Matamata, and the addition of visor blinkers and a tongue tie should result in an improved performance from barrier two in the Maiden 3YO 1400 metres.

2.38 p.m. R6 4 Royal Success (3 g Savabeel - Royal Show) - Matt Cameron; travelled like a winner but had no luck in the straight when fifth on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1400 metres at Woodville, and ideally drawn in barrier four to offer stern competition in the Maiden 1400 metres. His dam, Royal Show (Deputy Governor) was a stakes winner of four races up to 1400m.

3.48 p.m. R8 14 Stella Di Paco (3 f Paco Boy - Savabeel Star) - Matt Cameron; fought solidly in a photo for the minors (fourth) in the Rating 65 1400 metres on Anzac Day at Avondale, and appears to have struck a field in which she could threaten with the right trip from barrier eight in the Rating 65 1600 metres.

4.18 p.m. R9 3 Linchpin (3 g Pins - Laurinel Princess) - Matt Cameron; worked in front and fought hard for fourth in the Maiden 3YO 1600 metres at Te Aroha, and should go well with visor blinkers on in what appears a slightly stronger field for the Maiden 1600 metres.
