Te Akau Pukekohe Thursday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Thursday 23 May at Pukekohe.

Weather: overcast, track: Slow7, rail: out 5 metres. No rain forecast.

11.37 a.m. R1 2 Bak Da Master  (4 g Mastercraftsman - Bak Da Princess) - Shaun Phelan; did well for sixth, off a wide trip near the pace when resuming here in the Rating 65 1600 metres on 3 May. A consistent staying type horse and noticeably stronger this time in, he should appreciate stepping up in the $10,000 Rating 65 High-weight 2200 metres.

3.02 p.m. R7 2 Byzantine(3 g Savabeel - Baradevi) - Opie Bosson; resumed off a lengthy spell with a solid performance in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 4 May at Te Rapa, having trialled well prior. Meeting a good field in the $10,000 Rating 65 1200 metres, benefit of his first-up run should see improvement with luck from an awkward draw (11).
