Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Thursday 17 December at Randwick, Sydney.

7.15 p.m. (NZ time) R4 10 Pazienza (3 f Written Tycoon - Gypsy Chimes) - Hugh Bowman; impressed winning on debut as a two-year-old over 1000 metres in March at Trentham, found the line strongly for third when resuming over 1000 metres at Kembla Grange, and spelled after the Heritage Stakes (Listed, 1100m) at Rosehill, both in September. She has since found the line for second and fourth, respectively, at the trials, and kicks off again in the $50,000 Benchmark 65 3YO 1250 metres. Ideally drawn (2), she drops in class and rates a top three chance. Fixed odds NZ TAB: $9.50 & $3.10.

9.00 p.m. (NZ time) R7 3 Avadane (4 m Savabeel - J'Adane) - Kerrin McEvoy; was claimed on the line after leading here two starts ago in the Benchmark 72 1200 metres, and following a let-up and trial she resumes in the $50,000 Benchmark 72 1150 metres. She carries a hefty impost (59kg) and requires luck from barrier 10, but capable and generally consistent. Fixed odds NZ TAB: $18.00 & $4.80.
