Te Akau Racing has five horses entered on Wednesday 13 November at Riccarton.

2:17 p.m. R2 3 Cool Aza Rene (2 f Cool Aza Beel – Irene) – Craig Grylls; she won a trial without being extended on 19 September at Rotorua, and recorded a very good debut victory in the 2YO 800 metres on 19 October at Otaki, also with Grylls aboard. By Te Akau trained Champion Two-Year-Old Cool Aza Beel who won both the Karaka 2YO Million and Group 1 Sistema Stakes as a juvenile, this is the family of Australian Champion 2YO Filly Hasna (Snippets), and she rates a top three chance from barrier three in the $65,000 2YO 1000 metres. Fixed odds: $1.55 & $1.05.

5:14 p.m. R7 2 Class (3 g Embellish – Opulent) – Liam Riordan; he drew out to win easing down by nearly four lengths when debuting in the Maiden 3YO 1400 metres on 20 October at Waverley, and steps up in the $65,000 3YO 1400 metres. It was a terrific first-up performance to win, and while he meets a meets stronger field, he should receive every chance from barrier one. Fixed odds: $3.00 & $1.50. 

5:49 p.m. R8 1 Perfect Scenario (7 g Iffraaj – Rosetti Bay) – Liam Riordan; he handled the heavy ground to win the TAB Mile trial (Open Handicap, 1400m) here on 26 October, and contests the $250,000 Group 3 TAB Mile. He was a dual Group Three winner over 1600 metres at weight-for-age level, carries top weight (60kg) as highest rated (107) in field, conceding seven kilos to majority of rivals, but racing in terrific form, good course/distance stats, winner of 11 races, and ability to prove competitive. Fixed odds: $10.00 & $3.30.

6:59 p.m. R10 2 El Viento (4 g El Roca – Mandeville) – Liam Riordan; overcame adversity to powerfully win the Rating 75 1600 metres here on 28 September, and remained in same grade with strong performance for close second to subsequent winner Richard Stomper (El Roca) in the Rating 75 1600 metres on 20 October at Ashburton. Racing well, he rates a top three chance in the $65,000 Rating 75 1800 metres. Fixed odds: $4.00 & $1.80.

6:59 p.m. R10 14 Can’t Kach Me (5 m Tavistock – Kachina) – Craig Grylls; charged home on Heavy10 footing to record stylish fresh-up victory in the Rating 65 1600 metres here on 26 October, and rises in grade for the $65,000 Rating 75 1800 metres. She dashed away on Soft5 ground for Maiden success over 2200 metres last season, very good course record, and appears capable of measuring up with luck from wide draw (15). Fixed odds: $11.00 & $3.50.
