Te Akau Riccarton Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has one horse entered for the ten-race premier programme on Saturday Aug. 1 at Riccarton.

As on Thursday July 31 the conditions were: fine and Heavy11, rail out 2 metres.

12:50pm R4 3 Brer (6 g China Cat - La Fox) - Daniel Miller (a1.5); gave a courageous performance off the front for a close up fourth in his first steeplechase assignment over 4000 metres on Slow8 footing at Te Rapa. Prior to, he fought well for sixth in the Hawkes Bay Hurdle 3100 metres on Slow8 at Hastings. Dropping back in distance for the Maiden Steeplechase 3200 metres, he is reported to have travelled very well in the care of Tommy Hazlett and schooled nicely over a few jumps on Thursday.
