Te Akau Riccarton Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has one horse entered for the ten-race programme on Wednesday Aug. 6 at Riccarton.

As on Monday Aug. 4 the conditions were: fine and Heavy10, rail out 2 metres.|

12:43pm R3 7 Brer (6 g China Cat - La Fox) - Daniel Miller (a1.5); did a marvellous job after reaching the lead at the halfway stage to win the Maiden Steeplechase over 3200 metres by six and a half lengths here on Saturday. He jumped the big fences with aplomb and quickened when asked to extend in the straight. Reported to have not missed an Oat since and trotted up sound, he is now preparing to backup in the 0 - 1 Steeplechase over the same two-mile journey. Both horse and rider can go into the race with a good degree of confidence that a bold performance awaits.
