Te Akau New Zealand has one horse entered for the eleven race premier programme on Saturday August 13 at Riccarton.

As on raceday the conditions were: overcast/showery and Heavy10, rail true. 3mls rain forecast Saturday morning.

2.23 p.m. R7 7 Brer (8 g China Cat - La Fox) - Aaron Kuru; took a tumble near home in the $30,000 Koral Steeplechase (4250m) here last Saturday, after displaying exemplary form for second in the $50,000 Waikato Steeplechase (4000m), third in the $50,000 McGregor Grant Steeplechase (4150m), and second in the $50,000 Hawkes Bay Steeplechase (4800m). He seemed fine during three-quarter pace work on Thursday with the race day rider aboard in preparation for the $75,000 Grand National Steeplechase (5600m) and prior to the mishap his two previous course attempts resulted in steeplechase wins.
