Te Akau Rotorua Midweek Preview
Date: 5 Jul 2023
Te Akau Racing has two horses entered on Wednesday 5 July at Rotorua.
Weather: fine, track: Heavy10, rail: out 5 metres. No rain forecast.
2:54 p.m. R8 4 Hayate (4 m Maurice - Vamoose) - Michael McNab; she worked forward to position handily and fought well for fourth on Heavy9 footing in the Rating 60 1340 metres on 23 June at Wanganui. Contesting the $14,000 Rating 60 1560 metres, she has the leading rider aboard, has drawn the ace, and is suited by any improvement in conditions. Fixed odds: $6.50 & $2.20.
3:29 p.m. R9 3 Fay Khan It (4 m Mongolian Khan - Morgan Le Fay) - Michael McNab; she found the line nicely enough for fifth in the Rating 65 1600 metres on 21 June at Pukekohe, and contests the $14,000 Rating 60 1560 metres. A winner three starts ago on a Heavy10 track in the Maiden High-weight 1600 metres in May at Tauranga, she should race well in this field if appreciative of the course at her first attempt. Fixed odds: $5.50 & $1.90.
