Te Akau Rotorua Preview - MEETING ABANDONED
Te Akau New Zealand has four horses entered for the eight race programme on Wednesday 29 June at Rotorua.

As on Tuesday 28 June the conditions were: overcast and Heavy11, rail out 5.5 metres. 25mls forecast race day.

12.45 p.m. R2 4 Bobtail (2 f Alamosa - Cavendish Belle) - Hanafi Noorman (a4); circled from off pace for third when resuming in the Maiden 2YO 1200 metres on Heavy10 at Te Teko, and contests the Maiden 2YO 1230 metres. Rain should make the going easier to get through; she trialled well here and weight relief is an assist.

2.30 p.m. R5 4 Niamh Elizabeth (3 f Per Incanto - Trove) - Matt Cameron; produced a much improved performance for second in the Maiden 1200 metres at Te Teko, and looks in good order for the $12,000 NZB Pearl Series Maiden 1230 metres (eligible $11,500 bonus). While these events are always competitive affairs, she has proved proficient in the conditions.

3.04 p.m. R6 10 Lady Pinot (3 f Starspangledbanner - Madame Echezeaux) - Matt Cameron; was swamped late in the Rating 65 1000 metres at Tauherenikau. She found plenty on heavy ground for a close second on debut at Taupo, and possesses the ability to be competitive if appreciative of the conditions.

3.34 p.m. R7 3 Tavis Star (4 m Tavistock - Megapins) - Hanafi Noorman (a4); produced a top run for third in the $20,000 Rating 65 1400 metres here on May 14 before stretching to a big lead and being collared on the line over a mile at Avondale, with this rider aboard. Another NZB Pearl Series race, over 1400 metres, she meets a strong field but appears bright and ready to rumble.
