Te Akau Rotorua Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has four horses racing on Wednesday 20 March at Rotorua.

As on Tuesday 19 March the conditions were: overcast and Dead4, rail true. No rain forecast.

1.07 p.m. R2 14 Shebringsmerubies (3 f Sebring - Run Away Ruby) - Opie Bosson; trialled solidly for fourth on 26 February at Avondale, with Bosson aboard, and debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 1215 metres. From a mare that won three times from 1200m - 1600m in Australia, she seems ready to run a good race from barrier three.

1.42 p.m. R3 2 Red Jakkal (3 g Jakkalberry - Red Alert) - Opie Bosson; quickened with a strong finish for second off a wide trip when debuting here last September in the Maiden 1230 metres. Given a quiet trial for third on 26 February at Avondale, he looks a good chance to resume on a bright note from barrier two in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1215 metres.

2.17 p.m. R4 1 English Rose (4 m Makfi - Bislieri) - Opie Bosson; was never off the bridle when finishing third in a trial on 26 February at Avondale, and resumes in the NZB Insurance Pearl Series 1400 metres (eligible $11,500 bonus). Destined to get over more ground, she has taken time to mature but registered some good performances and rates a top four prospect in this field.

4.02 p.m. R7 3 Man Oh Man (3 g Reliable Man - Lumir) - Opie Bosson; looked good winning a trial on 26 February at Avondale, and debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres. Bred to develop into a staying type, he possesses the athleticism to utilize barrier one and rate an each way chance.
