Te Akau Rotorua Preview
15 April, 2015
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the ten race programme on Wednesday April 15 at Rotorua.
As on race day 13 the conditions were: fine and Heavy10, rail out 3 metres.
11.31 a.m. R1 1 Skyscraper (3 g Manhattan Rain - Grand Performance) - Daniel Miller (a3); raced handily before leading at the 1000 metres and fought hard for second when stepping up in distance for the first time on March 26 in the Maiden 2040 metres at Wanganui. He found the line nicely for third here three starts ago over 1560 metres and now contests the Maiden High-weight 1950 metres. Likely to race in or near the lead again, he brings the right form to prove competitive provided he appreciates the going.
2.23 p.m. R6 3 Hushed (4 g Don Eduardo - Danewhisper) - Matt Cameron; produced a solid enough effort on debut, for a horse destined to go over ground, in the Maiden 1200 metres on Good3 footing at Wanganui. The step to 1400 metres with give in the ground should suit and having had a look around the course when finishing second in a trial is also of benefit.
