Te Akau Rotorua Preview
16 November, 2015
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the nine race programme on Tuesday 17 November at Rotorua.
As on Monday 16 November the conditions were: showery and Dead5, rail out 5 metres.
12.50 p.m. R2 8 Niamh Elizabeth (3 f Per Incanto - Trove) - Cameron Lammas; was found to be slightly off colour after her last start at Woodville, and 33 days later takes her place in the Maiden 3YO 1200 metres from a handy draw. She has shown to appreciate give in the ground and can return to form with a bold performance in a race where Volks Lightning (Volksraad) appears hardest to beat.
3.48 p.m. R7 7 Astrid (4 m Pins - Astralita) - Matt Cameron; resumed with a dominant win in the Rating 65 1200 metres on Oct. 21 at Te Aroha, and she has trained on pleasingly. Up in grade and distance to contest the Rating 75 1400 metres, she meets a field worthy of Saturday representation. A bold performance should provide ideal insight into her placement over the summer months, the only question being whether or not she would take her place if the track conditions continued to worsen.
