11:55 a.m. R1 11 Classico (3 f Pierro - Onetangi) - Warren Kennedy; she ran home under her own steam for third in a trial on 24 April at Waipa, and resumes in the $15,000 Maiden 1215 metres. She won a trial stylishly in November at Matamata, and is likely to get back and find the line well, if appreciative of conditions. Fixed odds: $5.00 & $2.00.
12:27 p.m. R2 1 Kabugee (3 g Satono Aladdin - Kabuki) - Warren Kennedy; he resumed with a win on Heavy10 footing in the 3YO 1200 metres on 23 April at Awapuni, and contests the $30,000 3YO 1400 metres. A course winner at his only attempt, he has won three from seven and rates a top three chance. Fixed odds: $4.00 & $1.60.
12:27 p.m. R2 2 Accidental Tourist (3 g Telperion - Megara) - Michael McNab; he sustained a big sprint after missing the start to win the 3YO 1400 metres on 14 April at Awapuni, before posting a notable third in the 3YO 1600 metres on 29 April at Te Rapa. A winner and stakes' placed on heavy ground, he has first three claims in the $30,000 3YO 1400 metres. Fixed odds: $5.50 & $2.10.
12:27 p.m. R2 6 Inca Belle (3 f Per Incanto - Belle Vie) - Joe Kamaruddin (a); she remained unbeaten in three starts before finishing sixth in the 3YO 1200 metres on 1 April at Awapuni, and was an eye-catching fifth in the 3YO 1400 metres on 25 April at Avondale. Also a winner on heavy footing, she likewise rates a top three chance in the $30,000 3YO 1400 metres. Fixed odds: $7.00 & $2.30.
12:59 p.m. R3 3 She's A Showoff (4 m Showcasing - Que Sera) - Jessica Allen (a4); she resumed with a smart second in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 8 April at Pukekohe, and was a solid fourth in the corresponding event on 22 April. She has raced well here previously, enjoys weight relief to 55kg with the Te Akau apprentice engaged, both wins have come on heavy ground, and she possesses top three prospects in the $30,000 Rating 65 1215 metres. Fixed odds: $6.00 & $2.30.
12:59 p.m. R3 6 Luxuriant (5 m Iffraaj - Opulent) - Michael McNab; she found the heavy conditions too testing in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 22 April at Pukekohe, and likewise contests the $30,000 Rating 65 1215 metres. She wasn'r far away in her prior two efforts and any improvement in footing aids her prospects. Fixed odds: $7.50 & $2.50.
2:18 p.m. R5 9 The Mighty Spar (5 g Savabeel - O'Dianne) - Joe Kamaruddin (a); he finished strongly for second (fastest last 600m: 34.9) in the Rating 75 2400 metres on 29 April at Te Rapa, and contests the $85,000 Campbell Infrastructure Rotorua Cup (Listed, 2200m). Winner on heavy footing, he is placed two from two on the course, is assigned a light weight (53.5kg), and brings the right form to prove competitive with luck from a wide draw (13). Fixed odds: $8.50 & $2.80.
2:53 p.m. R6 4 Devoted (5 g Contributer - Mapmaker) - Michael McNab; he raced clear to win easily (4.5 lengths) on Heavy10 in the Rating 60 2100 metres on 23 April at Awapuni, with McNab aboard, and contests the $30,000 Rating 65 2200 metres. Up in grade, but given the strength of his prior win he rates a top three chance. Fixed odds: $6.50 & $2.40.
3:28 p.m. R7 5 Synchronize (4 m Savabeel - Splits) - Warren Kennedy; she battled late off a wide trip in the Anzac Mile (Listed, 1600m) on 23 April at Awapuni, and contests the $85,000 Rotorua ITM Stakes (Gr. 3, 1400m). an impressive course/distance winner on Soft5 at the corresponding meeting last year, she is a stakes' winner capable of proving competitive if appreciative of the prevailing conditions. Fixed odds: $9.00 & $3.00.
