Impressive course/distance winner on Heavy10, weight relief to 56.5kg, wide draw (10) likely advantage, and capable of bold showing. Fixed odds: $27.00 & $6.00.

5:12 p.m. R8 4 El Viento (5 g El Roca – Mandeville) – Warren Kennedy; he found line belatedly after racing wide when resuming in the Rating 75 1300 metres on 6 September at Ellerslie, given time (36 days), and contests the $40,000 Rating 75 1400 metres. Two of three wins over 1400 metres, yet to race on heavy ground but progeny of sire El Roca (Fastnet Rock) have handled it. Fixed odds: $7.50 & $2.60.
