Te Akau Rotorua Sunday Preview

Te Akau Racing has four horses entered on Sunday 26 June at Rotorua.

Weather: fine, track: Heavy8, rail: out 4.5 metres. 4mls rain forecast Saturday.

2:35 p.m. R6 6 Ifyourample (3 f Iffraaj - More than Adequate) - Michael McNab; no luck when resuming in a Pearl Series Maiden 1200 metres on 13 May, won by stable-mate Hayate (Maurice), but she posted a notable fourth in a Maiden 1200 metres on 8 June, both at Matamata. She finished strongly for third over 1400 metres at her only course attempt and rates a top three chance in the $12,000 Maiden 1230 metres.

3:15 p.m. R7 8 Dancing Sands (3 f Contributer - Tonic) - Craig Grylls; capitalised on a good trip to win the Pearl Series Maiden 1400 metres on 29 April before copping a wide trip in a Rating 65 1400 metres on 14 May, both at Rotorua. She finished a distant sixth to stable-mate Millefiori (3 f Iffraaj) in the Rating 65 1400 metres on 8 June at Matamata, and would appear best suited in the $12,000 Rating 65 1230 metres if footing remained reasonable.

3:55 p.m. R8 1 Asperitas (3 g Shooting to Win - Sehaab) - Troy Harris; bounced back with a close second off a wide trip in a Maiden 1200 metres on 8 June at Matamata, given Heavy10 footing, and contests the $12,000 Maiden 1400 metres. Drawn barrier two, he rates a top three chance - one of two in the race for the stable.

3:55 p.m. R8 12 Sternland (3 f Astern - Landslide) - Michael McNab; raced well for second on Soft5 ground in a Maiden 1400 metres on 14 May at Rotorua. She fought well for fifth in a Maiden Fillies & Mares 1400 metres on 8 June at Matamata, given Heavy10 footing, and also contests the $12,000 Maiden 1400 metres. She would appear best suited if footing remained reasonable.
