Te Akau Rotorua Wednesday Preview

27 November, 2019

Te Akau New Zealand has five horses racing on Wednesday 27 November at Rotorua.

Weather: cloudy, track: Dead5, rail: out 4 metres. No rain forecast.

2.15 p.m. R3 5 Meritorious (3 f Burgundy - Iconic) - Danielle Johnson; freshened following a notable resuming third over 1100 metres on 29 August at Waverley, and won stylishly when trialling on 13 November at Avondale. From a good family, she rates a top three chance from barrier seven in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1100 metres.

2.15 p.m. R3 10 Get Hitched (3 f Lonhro - Wedding) - Opie Bosson; looked good finishing solidly for third when trialling on 13 November at Avondale, after racing three times in Australia, and having her first start for the stable in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1100 metres.

2.50 p.m. R4 7 Darci's Rose (3 f Darci Brahma - Sovereign Rose) - Opie Bosson; came from well back in winning a trial on 7 November at Taupo, and debuts in the $10,000 NZB Pearl Series Maiden 1250 metres. From a Te Akau trained mare that won four times (1600m - 2100m), aided by barrier three and appears capable of a solid first-up effort.

3.25 p.m. R5 4 Byzantine (4 g Savabeel - Baradevi) - Opie Bosson; found the line solidly for fifth in the Rating 72 1200 metres on 25 October at Tauranga, and had more to offer when denied a run in the corresponding event on 10 November at Hastings. He meets a competitive field in the $11,000Rating 72 1100 metres, but rates a top three chance from barrier five.

4.39 p.m. R7 3 Rakuten (3 c Savabeel - Millililli) - Opie Bosson; finished close up in third when resuming in the Maiden 1200 metres on 10 November at Hastings, and steps up in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres. Drawn (2) to get a sweet trip, he again rates a top three chance.
