Drawing wide (14 - expected to jump from barrier 11 after emergencies come out) could be offset if forecast rain downgrades the footing - while not wanting it too deep she has proved extremely proficient on rain-affected going. Despite carrying equal top weight (57kgs), her current form and overall record indicates a strong each way chance in the iconic mile handicap.
The reigning NZ Horse of the Year, winner of 10 Group Ones, Melody Belle was purchased as a yearling by David Ellis for $57,500 at Karaka and amassed NZ$3.38 million in prize money.
