Te Akau Ruakaka Midweek Preview

Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Wednesday 12 April at Ruakaka.

Weather: fine, track: Soft5, rail: true. 2mls rain forecast Tuesday and Wednesday. 

 

3:29 p.m. R6 10 Dignitosa (3 f Xtravagant - Infra Dig) - Opie Bosson; she was in no danger throughout when scoring fresh-up in the Maiden 1200 metres on 23 February at Wanganui, but not quite the same in a much stronger Rating 65 1200 metres on 11 March at Pukekohe. Given time (32 days), she receives an opportunity to bounce back but will need luck from her wide draw (12).

4:04 p.m. R7 4 Devoted (5 g Contributer - Mapmaker) - Opie Bosson; he ran the fastest last 600m (35.4) in the Rating 60 1600 metres on 15 March at Matamata, and utilised barrier one to trail and finish second in the Rating 60 2050 metres on 26 March at Tauherenikau. Contesting the Rating 60 2100 metres, he has the opportunity to continue racing well. 

4:04 p.m. R7 7 Avondalay (4 m Redoute's Choice - Miss Maren) - Joe Kamaruddin (a); she closed strongly late for fourth in the Rating 65 1950 metres on 2 March at Rotorua, but was eased down when indifferent in her action contesting the Rating 65 2200 metres on 18 March at Trentham. She has unfortunately drawn wide (15) in the $14,000 Rating 60 2100 metres, but nevertheless can be running on strongly.
