Te Akau Ruakaka Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the ten-race programme on Wednesday May 21 at Ruakaka.

As on Tuesday 20 May the conditions were: fine and Dead5, rail out 4 metres.

12:20pm R3 2 Sovereign Rose (6 m Pins - Pavan) - Kelly Myers; did a good job working home for seventh in a stronger field on May 3 in the Benchmark 75 1600 metres at Te Rapa, having won first up at 17-1 on April 5 in the Benchmark 75 1600 metres in a slick 1:34.3 at Hastings. She staged a massive effort from last when finishing second in the corresponding race (Benchmark 75 2100m) here last season and a kind trip should see her competitive - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

12:20pm R3 6 Milan Miss (4 m Darci Brahma - Falaniella) - Matt Cameron; was eased out when floundering in atrocious track conditions last week at Te Aroha, but strips bright for this assignment. She notched back-to-back wins on good ground over 2000m & 2060m leading up to Christmas and will certainly appreciate the better going on offer. She would likely take up a handy position from barrier four and can certainly turn things around.
