Te Akau Ruakaka Preview

16 June, 2017

Te Akau New Zealand has three horses racing on Saturday 17 June at Ruakaka.

As on Friday 16 June the conditions were: overcast and Dead4, rail true. No rain forecast.

11.47 p.m. R1 11 O'Know (4 m O'Reilly - Know All) - Jasmine Fawcett (a3); worked to get handy and fought solidly for sixth here on 17 May in the Maiden 1600 metres, and with weight relief to 53.5kgs she has drawn barrier two in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres. Assured an economical trip, the footing will suit and her fitness levels should be peaking at the fourth start following a spell.

12.17 p.m. R2 8 Elegant D'oro (3 f Medaglia D'oro - Elegant Fashion) - Michael McNab; kept up a competitive gallop after racing outside the leader for third here on debut in the Maiden Fillies & Mares 1200 metres, and given time since she comes in off 31 days in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres. A very well bred filly - her dam is the 2003 Hong Kong Derby winner Elegant Fashion (Danewin) - she has drawn wide but was encouraging enough first up to rate a top four chance with luck in running.

12.52 p.m. R3 3 Silverdale (7 g Castledale - Elianto) - Michael McNab; has come on for his resuming run on very testing ground in the Open 1200 metres on 27 May at Ellerslie, and contests the $30,000 Open 1200 metres. Drawn barrier one in a field of six, he meets a few talented sprinters and will benefit with racing and increased distances. Fixed odds: $23.00 & $3.70.
