Te Akau Ruakaka Preview
15 September, 2017
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses racing on Saturday 16 September at Ruakaka.
As on Friday 15 September the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail true. 3mls rain forecast Friday night, fine race day.
1.14 p.m. R2 8 Mongolianconqueror (3 g Ocean Park - Queen Rania) - Opie Bosson; makes his debut from barrier six in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1400 metres. He did a good job in each of two preparatory trials this time in, both on heavy footing, having shown to be more effective on dead ground when trialling as a two-year-old in the autumn. From a consistent performing mare that won three races to 1400m and has already left four individual winners of eight races, his family have shown to act in a fresh state and he should give a good account of himself.
1.14 p.m. R2 13 Verbal Command (3 f Commands - Donna Sienna) - Michael McNab; trialled well for fifth and fourth respectively in August, each time on ground too heavy for her, and she also debuts in the $10,000 Maiden 3YO 1400 metres. Suited to kicking off over 1400 metres, with evidence within the family of appreciating further, she has drawn barrier seven and appears set for a solid first up performance.
