Te Akau New Zealand has three horses racing on Tuesday 18 December at Ruakaka.
As on Monday 17 December the conditions were: fine and Dead4, rail true. No rain forecast Monday, showers race day.
4.07 p.m. R5 1 Beau Geste (4 g Pour Moi - Villa Wanda) - Chelsea Burdan (a4); closed nicely for third when trialling on 27 November at Matamata, with Burdan aboard, and resumes in the $10,000 Maiden 1600 metres. An improver through his first four start campaign, with two fourths and a second, he is a half-brother to multiple Group One winner Wall Street (Montjeu), and perfectly drawn (1), with weight relief to 54.5kgs, to rate a top four chance in this field.
4.43 p.m. R6 7 Prise De Fer (3 g Savabeel - Foiled) - Opie Bosson; made good inroads off a handy trip to finish second on debut in the Maiden 1200 metres on 29 November at Avondale, with Bosson aboard, clocking the best last 600m on the day (34.2). Ideally drawn (5) in the $10,000 Maiden 1400 metres, he appears nicely placed to threaten.
5.22 p.m. R7 2 Weaponry (3 g Declaration of War - Cat Shmea) - Opie Bosson; made the perfect start to his racing career when winning on debut in the Maiden 3YO 1100 metres on 28 November at Rotorua, with Bosson aboard. Up in grade and distance for the $10,000 Rating 65 1400 metres, barrier one assists in rating him an each way chance.
