Te Akau Ruakaka Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the eleven race programme on Saturday 13 June at Ruakaka.

As on Friday 12 June the conditions were: showery and Dead5, rail true.

10.40 a.m. R1 10 Opulent (3 f Keeper - Silk Slipper) - Matt Cameron; resumed here on May 20 with a close second off a wide run in the Maiden Fillies and Mares 1200 metres and should appreciate stepping to 1400 metres. Again drawn wide, the skills of premiership leading rider Matt Cameron will be called upon to secure the best path. A quality filly, she could break through with an ounce of luck.

2.33 p.m. R8 2 Sir Darci (4 g Darci Brahma - Dominant) - Brendan Hutton (a2); made good ground from last when resuming at Te Rapa, was held up here on May 20 in the Rating 75 1200 metres and contests the corresponding event. Facing a similar field, and claiming two kilos to carry 58kgs from barrier two, his bullishness in training should make him competitive.
