Te Akau Ruakaka Preview
10 July, 2015
Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the nine race programme on Saturday 11 July at Ruakaka.
As on Friday 10 July the conditions were: fine and Dead5, rail out 3 metres.
1:02 p.m. R3 5 Stella Di Paco (2 f Paco Boy - Savabeel Star) - has been given time since her tough win off the front in the Castletown Stakes (Listed, 1200m) on Slow7 at Wanganui, and contests the 2YO 1200 metres off 42 days. Drawn the outside of ten runners, she has the foot speed to take up a handy position and should run a nice race in preparation for the $50,000 Ryder Stakes (Listed, 1200m) on July 25 at Otaki.
4.36 p.m. R9 8 Opulent (3 f Keeper - Silk Slipper) - Matt Cameron; gained a well-deserved two-length win here a fortnight ago in the Maiden 1600 metres and now contests the Rating 65 1400 metres from barrier three. Boasting a 3-1-2 record here in recent times, she has grown further in confidence following the win and should cope with a rise in grade.
