Te Akau Ruakaka Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has two horses entered for the seven race programme on Wednesday 12 August at Ruakaka.

As on Monday 10 August the conditions were: showery and Dead6, rail out 5 metres.

1.37 p.m. R3 1 Bon Marche (4 g Nom Du Jeu - Las Vegas Lass) - Cameron Lammas; did well for fifth despite the Heavy10 proving a touch testing over 1400 metres at Rotorua, having resumed from a spell over the same course/distance prior with a strong late run for third on slow ground. While proving versatile on a range of going in his four starts to date, indications are that this type of footing should suit.

2.47 p.m. R5 12 Lady Painton (3 f Tavistock - Lady Verify) - Cameron Lammas; found the line for fifth on debut and following two further starts as two-year-old she resumes off 116 days from barrier nine in the Maiden 1200 metres. A big filly, she has the pedigree to go much further and seeing her round off solidly will be encouraging.
