Te Akau Ruakaka Preview
29 September, 2015
Te Akau New Zealand has six horses entered for the ten race programme on Wednesday 30 September at Ruakaka.
As on Tuesday 29 September the conditions were: fine and Slow7, rail out 3 metres.
12.35 p.m. R2 8 Niamh Elizabeth (3 f Per Incanto - Trove) - Matt Cameron; felt the pinch off a wide run in the $12,000 NZB Pearl Series Maiden Fillies & Mares 1200 metres at Te Rapa, in what appears a strong form race, following a tough performance for third on debut in heavy ground over 1200 metres at Avondale. Off 21 days and ideally drawn in the Maiden 1200 metres, she has a tongue tie on and the ability to bounce back.
1.45 p.m. R4 4 Thetruthisoutthere (3 f Starcraft - Absolute Faith) - Matt Cameron; produced a solid effort for fourth in the Maiden 1200 metres on Slow8 footing at Te Rapa, having done well for second when debuting on 19 August over 1200 metres on deteriorating ground at Taupo. In the Maiden 3YO 1200-metre field with both juvenile and trial form, she rates an each way chance on her two efforts thus far.
2.20 p.m. R5 10 Amperage (3 c Zabeel - Miss Zapper) - Matt Cameron; incurred interference through the run on debut over 1200 metres, and with blinkers on steps up to 1400 metres 32 days later. His family has its share of speed and also plenty of middle distance horses throughout the pedigree. Luck in running from a wide draw will be imperative to his chances.
2.55 p.m. R6 13 Love Actually (3 f Swiss Ace - Just Platonic) - Matt Cameron; produced a solid performance for sixth when making the field off the ballot in the $12,000 NZB Pearl Series Maiden Fillies & Mares 1200 metres on Slow8 footing at Te Rapa. The Maiden 1400-metre field boasts solid form, but having won a trial on dead ground she could prove competitive if able to find a suitable position off a wide gate.
4.05 p.m. R8 8 Ekraarstatic (5 m Ekraar - Nugget Point) - Matt Cameron; is a staying mare resuming in the Rating 85 1400 metres. She appears very well in condition and once up in distance should be adding to her four wins.
5.15 p.m. R10 4 Hushed (5 g Don Eduardo - Danewhisper) - Matt Cameron; stayed on well for fifth when resuming off 147 days in the Maiden 1400 metres at Te Rapa. Handily drawn, he should produce another solid effort over a mile before stepping up in distance.
