Te Akau Ruakaka Saturday Preview

Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Saturday 15 July at Ruakaka.

1:35 p.m. R3 2 Dancarina (4 m Sebring - Dance for Me) - Michael McNab; she finished strongly for second when resuming on 10 June in the Rating 75 1100 metres and did similar for third in the Rating 75 1200 metres on 1 July, both here at Ruakaka. From barrier three, she rates a top three chance in the $30,000 Rating 75 1200 metres. Fixed odds: $3.20 & $1.35.

3:18 p.m. R6 1 Hero Worship (4 g Xtravagant - Idol) - Craig Grylls; he got home well for third in the Rating 65 1300 metres on 17 June at Te Rapa, and followed suit in the Rating 65 1400 metres on 1 July at Hastings. While he carries the top weight (60kg), he has drawn barrier two and continues to put in despite long season - presents as a top three chance in the $30,000 Rating 65 1200 metres. Fixed odds: $8.50 & $2.80.

4:27 p.m. R8 2 Millefiori (4 m Iffraaj - Miss Bluebell) - Jessica Allen (a4); she ran the fastest last 600m (34.6) on the day to parcel up the Open 1100 metres on 10 June at Awapuni, and tried hard on testing ground in the Tauranga Classic (Listed, 1400m) on 1 July at Hastings. She enjoys weight relief to 55.5kg in the $60,000 Rating 86 1400 metres, but does require a lot of luck from the wide gate (11). Fixed odds: $4.50 & $1.90.
