Te Akau Sales' Update

We have had an incredibly exciting and busy time with Team Te Akau buying 35 yearlings at the Karaka Premier Sale (and now we are busy at the Select Sale).
As I predicted there was extremely good buying at the two day Premier Sale, particularly on the first day. On the second day the prices improved and there was heightened competition. However overall I think that the scales were slightly in the buyers' favour although the breeders must still be quite satisfied with the prices that were achieved.
Coming home from the sale last night Mark Walker said to me "this is the best group of horses by a million miles that we have ever purchased". These young colts and fillies not only are fantastic, athletic individuals but they are by international sires out of the top female families we have in Australasia.
Karyn and I are overwhelmed at the number of inquiries that we are getting from people who want to be involved in Te Akau and shares are selling very quickly indeed.
Today we are at the Select Sale and we have purchased five more horses - meanwhile back at Te Akau our incredible staff Robyn, Dayna, Luke and the team are doing a great job with the yearlings as they arrive home to the farm and with all the inquiries we are receiving in the office.
As they arrive home, every yearling is firstly drenched and have their shoes removed and it is time for them to chill out! They head then to a nice, fresh paddock that hasn't been grazed for three months. Our yearling paddocks been fertilised with superphosphate and lime. We have had terrific rain to wash it all in so the paddocks are in amazing condition for our new babies when they come home to Te Akau.
Our environment at Te Akau Stud is perfect our young horses and enables them to go to the next level before we start to break them in, in about six weeks' time.
If you would like to be involved in a share in a yearling with us please get in touch with us quickly - we just love having new owners involved in this great industry. I am confident that in the next 18 months we will see stake money rise in New Zealand and of course for those interested in racing in Singapore - we have two syndicates called "Straight to Singapore" that comprise two colts who will race there - and remember a maiden race is worth $75,000.
Karyn and I can't wait to hear from you and we will make you feel part of our team - and you will be very welcome - you can call us on 021 925 151 or email Karyn - [email protected]
