Te Akau New Zealand has one horse entered during the ten-race premier programme on Saturday Jan. 25 at Trentham.

2:50pm R5 1 Costa Viva (3 f Encosta De Lago - Vivacious Spirit) - Matt Cameron; comes off 30-days since finishing a close second in the Eight Carat Classic (Gr. 2, 1600m) on Boxing Day at Ellerslie. A brilliant winner of the 1000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) in November at Riccarton, she brings a record of three wins and two seconds from five starts to the Desert Gold Stakes (Gr. 3, 1600m). With 19 points in the NZ Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series, and boasting the form to warrant favouritism, she has every chance of extending her lead by a further 6 points.
