Te Akau Saturday Preview

Te Akau New Zealand has one horse entered for the eight-race programme on Saturday July 5 at Te Rapa.

As on Friday July 4 the conditions were: showery and Heavy10, rail out 3 metres.

2:36pm R5 4 Prospero (6 g High Chaparral - Alfred's Jewel) - Mick Dee (a1); dashed into third from off the pace here on June 7 in the Benchmark 75 1600 metres on Dead6 footing. At his third start following a spell he now steps up in distance to contest the Benchmark 75 2100 metres. From barrier one, he would look to find his feet through the early stages and hopefully travel strongly enough to work off the rail at an opportune time. His two course attempts have resulted in placed performances, one at this distance, and off 28-days he strips in the right condition to prove competitive again.

Prospero is also entered for the 3:11pm race 6 Taumarunui Gold Cup (Listed, 2100m). He is third on the ballot and consideration would be given to a start if able to make the field.
