Te Akau Saturday Singapore Preview

Te Akau Singapore has five horses entered on Saturday 28 January at Kranji.

Te Akau trainer Donna Logan ended her first season finishing second in the premiership. Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

6:00 p.m. R3 3 Aftermath (5 g Spirit of Boom - Elusive Gift) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier 5 of 9 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 56kg. 1200-metre winner on turf, strong second last start, and rates a good top three chance.

7:00 p.m. R5 1 Knippenberg (3 g I Am Invincible - Red Fez) - Ronnie Stewart; drew barrier 3 of 10 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 57kg. He should position handily in Singapore debut.

8:00 p.m. R7 5 Deception (4 g I Am Invincible - Friday Hussy) - Simon Kok (a1); drew barrier 8 of 10 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 53.5kg. Good course form, two quiet trials and a top four player.

9:00 p.m. R9 7 God's Gift (6 g Haradasun - Criquette) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); drew barrier 7 of 8 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on turf and carries 51.5kg. Good third last start, light weight, and rates top four.

10:00 p.m. R11 10 Super Posh (7 g Super Easy - Posh Bec) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); drew outside barrier (11) in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 46kg. Winner over 1000 metres, light weight, but he requires luck from barrier 11.
