Course proper (Heavy):

Preparing for the Maiden 1400 metres next Wednesday at Te Aroha, Chadsdale (Lammas) worked with Stella Di Paco (Rastrick) over 1000m in 1:11, last 600m in 41.5. Both horses were happy in the going and produced good work. Chadsdale (Castledale) resumed off a freshen-up with a very close third on heavy ground at Tauranga, following with another strong effort for second on dead ground last start at Matamata. Stella Di Paco shows to be improved for a solid enough effort behind impressive winner High Class (Shocking) on downgrading slow footing at Avondale, and her next assignment is the Castletown Stakes (Listed, 1200m) on May 30 at Wanganui.

Also gearing up to race Queens Birthday Saturday, at Ellerlsie, Tavis Star (Hercock) went an easy 1200m in 1:30, last 600m in 44. Tavis Star (Tavistock) has finished first and second respectively at her last two outings and although diminutive she has plenty of heart, plus very good ability and wet track credentials on her dam-side.

Maestro (Hercock) worked over 1200m in 1:25, last 600m in 41.5. Footing dependent, Maestro (Encosta De Lago) is scheduled for the Rating 65 1600 metres next Thursday at Awapuni.
