Te Akau trackwork highlights - Saturday 9 April -

Plough:

Smashing (Leveque) and Windborne (M. Grylls) covered 1000 metres in 1.05.2, their final 600 in 37. Raced by Trelawney Stud and close friends, Smashing (Pins) is targeting the Listed $50,000 NZ Bloodstock Finance and Leasing Sprint for the open horses over 1200 metres, next Saturday at Hastings. Windborne (Darci Brahma) will contest the 3YO 1200 at Tauranga next Saturday.

Linchpin (Ritchie) in the company of La Dama (Miller) went 1200 metres in 1.18.4, their final 600 in 36.7. High Chaparral filly, La Dama is set to make her debut at Rotorua on Wednesday in the Maiden 1400, her 3/4 sister La Diosa (So You Think) was an impressive 2 year old winner last weekend at Riccarton.

Xtravagant (Miller) worked over 1000 metres in 1.18, his final 600 in 46. He looks to be making good progress towards the Gr. 2 $70,000 Cambridge Breeders' Stakes at Te Rapa on 30 April. Last start winner Tatters (M. Grylls) and Interstellar (Lammas) went 1000 in 1.03, their last 600 in 36. Zavistic (Ritchie) and Carmenize (Leveque) worked together over 1000m in 1.03.3, last 600 in 36.3. Both Zavisitc (Zacinto) and Carmenize (Any Suggestion) will head to Arawa Park next Wednesday the Maiden 2YO 1230 (Zavistic) and the Maiden 1230 (Carmenize).

Out of the 2009 Gr. 2 Wellington Cup winner Megapins, Tavis Star (Lammas) went 800 metres in 1.00, her last 600 in 43.4. A pair of trial winners from Matamata on March 22, 2f Redoute's Choice - Scarlett Lady (M. Grylls) and Winehouse (Leveque) worked over 800 in 55, last 600 in 40.5.

All Weather:

Skyscraper (Lammas) went solo over 1200 metres in 1.16. 3f Captain Rio - Capital Gold (Leveque), Beaumarchais (Miller) and Seductive D'Oro (Fawcett) went an easy 600 in 42, all riders were happy with how the trio are progressing towards trialling at Te Teko on 26 April.
