Te Akau Saturday Trackwork

Te Akau track work highlights Saturday 7 May -


Fog prevented most timing


Course proper (Slow):


Latin Rose (Leveque) and Zip Zap (Miller) pleased their riders when galloping 1000m and each appeared to handle the conditions. Preparing to race next Wednesday at Waipa - Latin Rose (Mastercraftsman) in the Rating 75 1150 metres and Zip Zap (Stravinsky) makes her debut in the Maiden 2YO 1150 metres.


Niamh Elizabeth (Leveque) and Grandeur (Miller) went 1000m. Christine Louise (M. Grylls) and Rocksun (Ritchie) did similar work. They were followed by Ebony Star (Fawcett), who appreciated the footing. 


Sand track:


Chambord (Leveque) went an easy 1400m.


Esprit De Corp (Miller) and Spritz (Leveque) galloped 1200m. Esprit De Corp (Bel Esprit) races Wednesday in the Maiden 1580 metres at Waipa, and Spritz (Thorn Park) in the Maiden 1400 metres.


Astrid (M. Grylls) and Its Our Showtime (K. Jones) worked together over 1000m. Its Our Showtime (Showcasing) contests the Maiden 1150 metres at Waipa. Matt Cameron is aboard all five runners at Waipa.


Abloom (M. Grylls) and Bobtail (Hanafi) worked solidly over 800m. Pure Savalina (Miller) and 2 f Mastercraftsman - Lynisky (Fawcett) did similar work. 2 g Echoes of Heaven - Replicate (Ritchie) and 2 f Murtajill - Forbetterforworse (Hanafi) went 800m. Gardenier (Miller) and Love Actually (Fawcett) galloped 800m. Cabaret (Fawcett) and Lady Masako (Miller) went 800m. Elegant D'oro (Miller) and 3 f Alamosa - Popsy (Fawcett) galloped 800m.


Shillelagh (Miller) and Vinevale (K. Jones) ran an easy 1000m in 1:11. Flirty Gertey (K. Jones) and Tatters (Leveque) did similar work.


Highly Likely (M. Grylls) and Sir Elmo (Hazlett) worked over 2000m at jumpers pace.


Sand track, three-quarter pace:


Skyscraper (K. Price) worked over a round, last 1200m in 1:30.


All-weather track:


Abbey Kay (M. Grylls), 2 f Alamosa - Eclectic Heights (Hanafi) and 3 f Captain Rio - Capital Gold (Leveque) appeared to work at good pace over 800m.


Jump outs:


Nucleonic (Leveque) and 2 f Pins - Lillet (Fawcett) began cleanly from the race day gates and went at three-quarter pace over 600m.


1 f Burgundy - Breezed (Hanafi), 1 f Burgundy - Paraiba (K. Price) and 1 f Burgundy - Scicolone (M. Grylls) went as a trio, doing similar work.
