Te Akau trackwork highlights - Saturday 11 June -
Course proper (Heavy) - fog prevented timing:
Prospects for the two year old race at Te Teko on Wednesday, Bobtail (Noorman) and Sensitive Smile (Lammas) covered 1000 metres. Grandeur (Ritchie) and Herschal (K. Jones) worked on terms over 1000m, both looking to break maiden status at Te Aroha on 19 June in the Maiden 1400m.
Tavistock filly Tatters (Lammas) and Mastercraftsman mare Latin Rose (Fawcett) went 1200m. Its Our Showtime (K. Jones) and last start winner at Ruakaka Beacon of Hope(Leveque) worked well together over 1000 metres, showing some strong work through the line.
Sand:
Promising fillies Love Triangle (Fawcett) and Sassy 'N' Smart (K. Jones) worked two rounds at a canter, both looking good in the early stage of their campaigns with some black type targets in mind for the pair in the new season.
2g Duporth - All Our Chips (Ritchie) and 2g Alamosa - Danewhisper (Pinn) worked together over 800m in 54.6, final 600 in 39, the pair looking strong in their work. Splurge (Shailer) covered 1000m in 1.18.
Last start runner-up at Hawera Esprit De Corps (Leveque) went 1000m in 1.10, last 600m in 40.5, appearing very relaxed in his work.
A group of yearlings consisting of 1g Darci Brahma - Spin N Grin (K. Price), 1g Rock 'N' Pop - Edesia (Fawcett), 1g Rock 'N' Pop - Paixanito (Leveque), 1g Rock 'N' Pop - Pteridophyte(Lammas) and 1g Rock 'N' Pop - Zorina (Noorman) ran along at thee-quarter pace over 400 metres, all impressing during their second educational preparation.
