Te Akau trackwork highlights - Saturday 18 June -
Course Proper (Heavy)
Working the reserve way on the course proper Splurge (Miller) and Cabaret (Leveque) covered 1000m in 1.11.3, last 600 in 41. Grazia (Miller) and Spritz (Leveque) worked over ground, covering 1000m in 1.09.7 and final 600 in 41.3.
Lady Pinot (Leveque) galloped 1000m, she is on track for the Rating 65 1200m at Avondale on Wednesday.
No.2 Sand
Last start third place getter in the MacGregor Grant Steeplechase Brer (Shailer) bowled around at three-quarter pace, fog prevented timing of his work. He heads to the Hawkes Bay Steeplechase on Saturday 2 July.
Inside Sand
Dual Group 1 and Group 3 winner Xtravagant (Miller) had his first morning back at the Matamata track, he cantered a couple of quiet laps on the sand. He looks great on his return from Te Akau Stud. He is pictured below, captured by Meg Cuneen happily ensconced back in the stable.
