Te Akau track work highlights - Saturday 25 June -

Course proper (heavy):

Tavis Star (Noorman) worked well with Niamh Elizabeth (Miller) when covering 1000 metres in 1.10.9, last 600 in 42.5. The daughter of Starspangledbanner Lady Pinot (Miller - below right) pleased with her work, also covering 1000 metres with Bobtail (Noorman - below left) in 1.12.2, final 600 in 41.8. All four horses have been nominated for Wednesday's meeting at Rotorua.

Hawkes Bay Steeplechase prospect Brer (Miller) looked good working over 1600 metres, running 1200 metres in 1.32.9, last 600 in 45.3.

No.2 Sand, three quarter pace: fog prevented early times -

Opulent (Leveque) covered 1200 metres solo, she heads to Te Rapa next Saturday for the Rating 75 F&M 1600 metres. In preparation for Hastings next Saturday where they'll both be nominated for the Rating 75 1400m, Chadsdale (Miller) and Astrid (Fawcett) worked together over 1000 metres,.

Maestro (Leveque) worked over a mile at three-quarter pace, running the last 1200 metres in 1.33.0 and 600 in 46. Skyscraper (Miller) did similar work, running his last 1200 in 1.30.0 and final 600 in 45.3. Both horses head to the Maiden Hurdle at Hastings next Saturday.

Unbeaten Group One and Listed winning two-year-old Heroic Valour (Shailer) trotted and cantered two laps and we couldn't be happier with the way he has returned to the stable.
