Te Akau track work highlights - Saturday 23 July -
Course Proper - (heavy):
Waipa prospects Gardenier (K. Jones - below left) and Spritz (Noorman - below right) worked over 1000 metres in 1.12, running their last 600 in 42. Gardenier is nominated for Maiden 1580 metre event and Spritz steps up to the 2000 metres in the Rating 65 event.

No. 2 Sand:
Coming off a second placing at Te Rapa last Saturday, Opulent (K. Jones) worked over an easy 1000 in 1.15, covering her last 600 in 45.
Imperium (Richards) and Zambezi Warrior (Noorman) both pleased our trainers with their work over 800 metres. Both geldings are on track to trial at Te Teko on Tuesday, August 2.
Two-year-old fillies Dame Margo Fonteyn (Fawcett) and Sassy ‘N' Smart (K. Jones) covered 800 metres in 1.01, running the last 600 in 45.
Smart Missile filly Corporate Missile (Leveque) worked with the Any Suggestion filly Caramize (M. Grylls) over 800 metres in 56.5, coming home in 42.
Alrina (Leveque) worked alongside 2yo Shocking - Breaking Dawn gelding (Fawcett) covering 800 metres in 59.1, last 600 in 43.
