Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 and 2017 Premiership winning trainer Mark Walker has recorded 30 wins since 1 January including a Group 1 quinella last weekend and also two Group 2 victories.

Friday 29 June -

10.20 p.m. R1 9 Venus De Milo (3 f Burgundy - Breezed) - Razali Zawari (a1); has drawn barrier 11 of 14 in the $20,000 Class 5 1400 metres on turf and carries 57.5kgs. Very unlucky when finishing third last start, she has drawn wider than hoped, but she gets back anyway and rates a top four chance.

10.50 p.m. R2 8 Accumulation (3 g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicilia) - Mohamad Firdaus (a1); has drawn barrier nine of 13 in the $85,000 Restricted Maiden 1400 metres on turf and carries 56kgs. Again no luck with the draw, but the distance suits and ridden quietly he rates a top five chance.

10.50 p.m. R2 12 Why Ports (3 f Roc De Cambes - Sweet Torque) - Craig Grylls; has drawn barrier two of 13 in the $85,000 Restricted Maiden 1400 metres on turf and carries 55.5kgs. Disappointed first up, but has a tongue tie on, nice draw, and ridden patiently expectations are for an improved run on the turf track.

11.50 p.m. R4 4 Amanzoe (3 g Stratum - Lagonissi) - Ryan Curatolo; has drawn barrier seven of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 55kgs. He showed ability in his first prep and much will depend how he handles the pressure of racing in his first start following a wind operation.

11.50 p.m. R4 7 Gridiron (3 g Captain Gerard - Natural Lil) - Choon Ng (a3); has drawn barrier two of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 51kgs. He has been a head scratcher, as working well but yet to show it on race day and looking for an improved performance ridden forward with a light weight.

12.55 a.m. R6 6 Big Regards (4 g Darci Brahma - Molly Coco) - Mohamad Firdaus (a1); has drawn barrier four of 11 in the $20,000 Class 5 1700 metres on the poly track and carries 52kgs. A bit of an enigma, he is hard to catch on the day, carries a light weight but needs to improve on his last start.
