Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview
6 July, 2018
Te Akau horses racing at Kranji racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 and 2017 Premiership winning trainer Mark Walker has recorded 30 wins since 1 January - including a Group 1 quinella in the Charity Bowl to add to the season's two Group 2 victories.
Friday 6 July at Kranji - note no racing on Sunday 8 July
10.50 p.m. R2 13 Broadway Success (2 g Alamosa - Broadway Express) - Nooresh Juglall; (first emergency) has drawn barrier three of 12 in the $85,000 Restricted Maiden 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 50kgs. He requires a scratching in order to start. If he makes the field, he has drawn well and has a top Mauritian jockey aboard to rate a top four chance.
11.20 p.m. R3 6 Sacred Galaxy (5 g Flying Spur - Irish Nova) - Ryan Curatolo; has drawn barrier three of eight in the $80,000 Class 3 1700 metres on the poly track and carries 54kgs. A good last start winner, but up in grade, he has struggled in Class 3 previously - hopeful rather than confident.
11.50 p.m. R4 2 Ben Gunn (4 g Tagula - Henrietta Mews) - Vlad Duric; has drawn barrier six of 12 in the Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 56kgs. He needs rain to prove competitive in this race that features two stable runners for Mark Walker.
11.50 p.m. R4 12 Success Come True (4 m Alamosa - Falaniella) - Alysha Collett; has drawn barrier 11 of 12 in the $45,000 event on the turf and carries 51.5kgs. She has been very unlucky in her last two starts and rates a top four chance with luck from a wide gate.
2.00 a.m. R8 2 Dazzling Speed (3 g Guillotine - Dazzling Belle) - Ryan Curatolo; has drawn barrier 10 of 12 in the $60,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 57kgs - where the stable has two representatives. The first won a moderate race last time, so is up in grade and weight here, but that said, he continues to improve and rates a top chance.
2.00 a.m. R8 4 Storm Trooper (6 g Tavistock - Shock) - Vlad Duric; the second of the stable duo has drawn barrier five and carries 57kgs. He was unlucky not to win last start, when the jockey lost his reins. This time, he has the champion rider aboard and presents as a top four chance.
