Te Akau horses racing at Kranji racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 and 2017 Premiership winning trainer Mark Walker has recorded 34 wins, 41 second and 41 third placings since 1 January - including a Group 1 quinella in the Charity Bowl to add to the season's two Group 2 victories.  He currently lies third on the Trainers' Premiership.

Friday 24 August 2018 - note no racing this Sunday 26 August 2018

11.50 p.m. R4 4 O'Reilly Star (5 g O'Reilly - Starbelly) - Vlad Duric; unfortunately draws the outside barrier (12) in the $20,000 Maiden 1600 metres on the polytrack in which he is weighted at 55kgs. He finds a suitable race and rates a top four chance if able to overcome that tricky draw.

12.20 a.m. R5 2 Alamosa Express (5 g Alamosa - Dane Whisper) - Vlad Duric; will jump from the ace draw (1) in a 12-strong field for the $38,000 Kranji D 1100 metres on the polytrack, with 58kgs on his back. Blinker/pacifiers go on and he rates top four chance from the inside gate.

12.55 a.m. R6 7 Cousteau (4 g Exceed and Excel - Maritime) - Mohamad Firdaus (a1); draws gate five of 12 in the $80,000 Class 3 1100 metres on the polytrack and is assigned 52kgs. He ran a great race last time for third, from a wide draw, and rates a top four prospect from a better barrier.

1.25 a.m. R7 4 Sacred Sea (5 g Sea the Stars - Gipsy Countess) - Razali Zawari (a1); another outside barrier for this stable runner (12) in the $45,000 Class 4 1600 metres on the polytrack where he will carry 56.5kgs. Suited to the 1600-metre distance, and with blinker/pacifiers going on, he rates a top four chance.

2.00 a.m. R8 5 Storm Trooper (7 g Tavistock - Shock) - Hanafi Noorman (a4); an older horse now, he has been a really good earner in Singapore for his Kiwi owners.  He draws barrier two of 12 in the $45,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the polytrack and carries 53.5kgs.  He has overcome some foot issues and although preferring turf, he still presents as a top four chance.
