Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 and 2017 Premiership winning trainer Mark Walker has recorded 35 wins, 43 second and 41 third placings since 1 January - including a Group 1 quinella in the Charity Bowl to add to the season's two Group 2 victories.  He currently lies fourth on the Trainers' Premiership.

Friday 7 September 2018

10.10 p.m. R1 9 Venus De Milo (4 m Burgundy - Breezed) - Ryan Curatolo; draws barrier 1 of 12 in the $20,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 56.5kgs. She receives her best chance to win a race since arriving in Singapore.

10.50 p.m. R2 1 Axel (3 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Vlad Duric; will jump from barrier 7 of 9 in the $85,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 57kgs. In good form, he has trialled well on the poly and rates a top four chance.

11.50 p.m. R4 2 O'Reilly Star (5 g O'Reilly - Starbelly) - Vlad Duric; has a good barrier draw of two in the Maiden 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 58kgs. He ran second from the outside gate over 1600 metres on the poly last time and rates well from a handier draw in this 12-strong field.  One of two runners in this event for Mark Walker.

11.50 p.m. R4 4 Accumulation (4 g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicila) - Ryan Curatolo; the second starter for the stable in this $20,000 affair will bounce from the other end of the starting stalls - drawing barrier 11 of 12 and with 57.5kgs assigned. He is ideally bred for 1600 metres and he rates a place chance despite an awkward draw.

12.20 a.m. R5 4 Alamosa Express (5 g Alamosa - Dane Whisper) - MM Firdaus (a1); draws out at barrier 9 of 10 in the Kranji D 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 57kgs. Blinker/pacifiers went on last time, but he has been disappointing and needs to lift.  The first of two for the stable in this event.

12.20 a.m. R5 7 Success Come True (5 m Alamosa - Falaniella) - Hanafi Noorman (a4); the second for Mark Walker in the $38,000 Kranji D fares no better draw-wise, with the outside barrier (10) and 52.5kgs on her back. She would be better placed with a drop back to Class 5.

12.50 a.m. R6 3 Elite Invincible (4 g Archarcharch - Dough on the Go) - Glen Boss; draws well at barrier 4 of 10 in the $125,000 Kranji A 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 56.5kgs. One of the best horses in Singapore, 1200 metres is too short but fresh-up he should be storming home as a top four chance.  Mark Walker lines up two runners in the feature.

12.50 a.m. R6 4 Viviano (7 g Keeper - Flying Florence) - Vlad Duric; the second for Mark Walker will break from barrier 8 and carries 55kgs. He has been freshened, is in great form and presents as a top four chance.

1.50 a.m. R8 1 Distinctive Darci (5 g Darci Brahma - Distinctive Lass) - Vlad Duric; the final runner for the team tonight also draws gate 8 of 11 in the $125,000 Kranji A 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 59.5kgs. He missed the start last time, and the barrier blanket goes on - the champion poly horse rates a first four chance despite the top weight.
