Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 and 2017 Premiership winning trainer Mark Walker has recorded 45 wins, 61 second and 51 third placings since 1 January - including a Group 1 quinella in the Charity Bowl and last weekend's Group 1 Singapore Gold Cup glory - to add to the season's two Group 2 victories.  He currently lies fourth on the Trainers' Premiership.

12.50 a.m. R4 10 Helime (4 m Savabeel - As Promised) - Razali Zawari (a1); draws barrier 5 of 12 on debut in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 55kgs. She is having her first start and this is a stepping stone as she will require more distance.  The first of two in the event for Mark Walker.

12.50 a.m. R4 12 Burgundy Heights (3 f Burgundy - Eclectic Heights) - Ismail Azhar; the second stable rep. will jump from barrier 4 of 12 and carries 51kgs. She needs to improve on what she has shown so far.

2.25 am. R7 3 Prince Pegasus (5 g Beneteau - Sassy Peg) - Vlad Duric; draws the ace, barrier 1 of 11 in the $80,000 Class 3 1600 metres on turf and carries 55kgs. He would appreciate rain to rate a top five chance.  Another race with two starters for the stable.

2.25 am. R7 11 Sportscaster (5 g Fastnet Rock - Gypsy Dancer) - MM Firdaus (a1); the second stable runner draws out a touch at barrier 8 and carries 50.5kgs. He is down in the weights and rates a top five chance.

3.00 a.m. R8 13 Ancient Warrior (6 g Iffraaj - Nuance) - Hanafi Noorman (a4); will spring from midfield - gate 6 of 13 in the $80,000 Kranji C 1200 metres on turf and carries 51kgs. He requires a drop back to Class 4 not make his presence really felt.
