Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has twelve horses racing on Friday 22 March at Kranji. Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker currently lies second on the Trainers' Premiership, just one win off the leader.

11.20 p.m. R1 1 Heart of Courage (4 g Fastnet Rock - Myrrh) - Yusoff Salim (a3); drew barrier 5 of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 56kgs. He finds a suitable race, with a three-kilo claim, and rates a top four chance.

11.20 p.m. R1 6 Spokesman   (4 g Alamosa - Panthera) - Ben Thompson; drew barrier 9 of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 52.5kgs. First start on turf and despite being suited to more distance, he rates an each way chance.

11.20 p.m. R1 8 Broadway Success (3 g Alamosa - Broadway Express) - Jaun Paul Van Der Merwe; drew the outside barrier (11) in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 52kgs. A difficult barrier draw (11) to navigate and he rates a place chance with luck.

11.50 p.m. R2 3 Prince Pegasus   (5 g Beneteau - Sassy Peg) - Ben Thompson; drew barrier 1 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1700 metres on the poly track and carries 56kgs. An improving type, he is ideally drawn (1) to rate a top four chance.

12.25 a.m. R3 3 Another Show   (3 g Showcasing - Tiaralae) - Glen Boss; drew barrier 9 of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 55kgs. It looks a suitable race and the 3YO looks part of the top four prospects with luck from a difficult draw (9).

12.25 a.m. R3 6 Analyst (3 g Darci Brahma - Pins ‘N' Needles) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier 10 of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 51.5kgs. Yet another with a difficult draw (10), but he has improved to figure as a place chance.

12.25 a.m. R3 7 Halime (4 m Savabeel - As Promised) - Thangamani Krisna (a3); drew barrier 3 of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 47.5kgs. He finds the right race, and with a handy draw (3), she presents as a place chance.

12.55 a.m. R4 2 Aabir (4 g O'Reilly - Neraan) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 57.5kgs. He has had a nice steady build up and rates an each way chance at odds.

1.25 a.m. R5 7 First Light   (5 g Duporth - All Our Chips) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 4 of 9 in the $38,000 Kranji D 1400 metres on turf and carries 56.5kgs. He finds a suitable race here and would love a bit of rain - a top four prospect.

2.00 a.m. R6 5 Gridiron   (4 g Captain Gerard - Natural Lil) - Callan Murray; drew barrier 7 of 10 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 54.5kgs. The trainer would have preferred to run over a 1000 metres (not enough entries), but looks a place chance at 1200 metres.

3.05 a.m. R8 1 Black Quail   (5 g Coats Choice - Sefidi) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 8 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 57kgs. A slightly awkward draw (8) to contend with and he would love some rain, hence a top four prospect.

3.05 a.m. R8 11 Sacred Guru   (5 g Savabeel - Biriyani) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 10 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 55kgs. This horse too cops a difficult draw (10), and also would love a bit of rain - place chance.
